High res. adaptive TwinMic System
A part of miFocus and takes automatic adaptive directional microphone systems to a new level. It incorporates a 48-channel high frequency resolution which optimizes the effectiveness of directional microphones in wearing conditions.
High res. SpeechFocus
Continuously analyzes the environment for the most favorable speech-to-noise ratio and automatically selects the microphone configuration that has the potential to offer the best speech intelligibility for the wearer, regardless of whether speech is coming from the front, behind, or the side. In hearing instruments powered by micon, SpeechFocus is also part of the miFocus automatic directional system.
Simulates the acoustics of the outer ear to allow for better front and back localization in BTE, RIC, and open fittings. In hearing instruments powered by micon, the effectiveness of TruEar™ is improved because of the superior frequency resolution offered by 48 channels.
Frequency compression may significantly improve speech intelligibility for individuals whose hearing loss inhibits the interpretation of high frequency information even with traditional means of amplification. The frequency compression integrated in BestSound hearing aids follows research-based recommendations to ensure that it is applied only to those individuals to whom it can provide a benefit without risking further sensory deprivation.
Automatic algorithm which detects the presence of wind and suppresses it, in both dual-microphone and single-microphone hearing instruments. In hearing instruments powered by micon, the new eWindScreen™ works virtually instantaneously; and it works even when directional microphones are on, so that speech understanding in outdoor situations can be improved even in windy situations.

Delivering amplification up to 12k Hz. Individuals with milder hearing loss will appreciate a naturally brilliant sound quality.
Exceeds the limitations of conventional hearing instrument bandwidths and adds artificial high frequencies to the output up to 12 kHz without added feedback risk. The result is a more “brilliant” sound quality, which is especially helpful when listening to music or using audio streaming via Bluetooth.

micon feedback cancellation
A part of miSound™ which combines parallel processing of two phase cancellers, as well as continuous critical gain measurements in the background to offer better feedback suppression than ever before.
micon speech and noise management
Noise reduction scheme comprised of a slow, modulation-based algorithm called noise reduction, which works optimally in noise-only situations, and a fast-acting Wiener Filter called speech enhancement that works well in speech-in-noise situations. Together, these two multi-channel and adaptive algorithms provide optimal listening comfort for the wearer in a variety of listening situations. In hearing instruments powered by micon, the effectiveness of speech and noise management is improved because of the superior frequency resolution offered by 48 channels.
|7 steps||5 steps||3 steps|
Industry benchmark noise reduction algorithm that targets transient and impulsive noises such as rustling paper or clanging dishes without affecting speech signals. In hearing instruments powered by micon, the effectiveness of SoundSmoothing™ is improved because of the superior frequency resolution offered by 48 channels.
|3 steps||3 steps||on/off|
Directional speech enhancement
This innovative algorithm incorporates the advantages of both adaptive directional microphones and Wiener Filters to suppress noises from the back, even if these are fluctuating noises such as speech. This is accomplished with extremely high resolution up to 48 channels, enabling wearers to focus on a conversation even in the most acoustically challenging situations.
Fitting / Individuality
Sound equalizer / no. of classes
Adjustment in Connexx7 allows the hearing care professional to fine-tune frequency shaping for different acoustic situations detected by hearing instruments.
Records data like program usage and microphone modes to be displayed in Connexx™. This information helps Hearing Care Professionals to make more informed decisions when making fine tuning adjustments.
The industry benchmark learning algorithm is a part of miGuide and allows the wearer to train preferred gain, compression, and frequency shape independently for various acoustic situations. Additionally, the Hearing Care Professional can set learning limits.
This feature considers auditory deprivation and automatically acclimatizes new users to more appropriate amplification over time. This feature saves valuable time for Hearing Care Professionals and wearers alike by eliminating the need for follow-up appointments for the purpose of increasing gain.
The micon fit fitting formula is powered by the new micon compression system and provides a more natural sound than ever before. Additionally, micon fit capitalizes on the superior bandwidth of the micon chip and provides better audibility of ultra-high frequencies up to 12 kHz. Individuals with milder hearing loss will appreciate a naturally brilliant sound quality. On the other hand, for others who may have a more severe to profound hearing loss, micon fit activates frequency compression to optimize audibility for high frequency sounds.
The tinnitus noiser function allows the hearing instruments to deliver a programmable tinnitus masking noise, either by itself or in addition to the amplified environmental signal. This function is available in select XCEL hearing instruments. In hearing instruments powered by micon, it can be programmed in up to 20 channels.
Style specific features
Inductive transmission in churches, theaters and other similar equipped locations allows best speech intelligibility while eliminating background noise.
This refers to the battery type a hearing instrument requires. Typical hearing instruments use 10A, 312, 13 or 675 size batteries depending on the hearing instrument.
Battery door on/off function
A built-on battery door on/off function allows hearing instrument users to turn on / off the hearing instrument by slightly opening the battery door while keeping the battery in place.
e2e wireless™ 2.0
Siemens‘ technology for coupling and synchronization of two hearing instruments into one holistic, binaural hearing system. It is used for communication between the hearing instrument, remote controls and audio streamers, as well as between bilateral instruments. In a bilateral fitting, e2e wireless 2.0 allows the on-board controls of the two hearing instruments to have different functionalities so that, for example, a rocker switch on the left could adjust volume bilaterally, and a push button on the right could change programs bilaterally.
An on board user control that can be programmed as a volume control, program changer or on/off function.
Color conversion kit
Includes all parts to easily exchange housing color of the hearing instrument.
Contact at the hearing instrument that enables a connection cable or radio receiver to be connected. Used for interference-free reception of radio and TV, but also used for conferences, seminars, and training.
