Audiological Key Features
The world’s first technology that outperforms normal hearing.*
In order to emulate natural binaural listening and its advantages, the two binax hearing aids are linked. The outstanding e2e wireless™ 3.0 data transmission technology enables exchange of audio signals between two hearing aids, so they can work with input from both ears just like the brain.
As a result, the hearing aids not only use the information picked up by their own two microphones, but also the acoustic signal from the two microphones of the other hearing aid. This way, each one works with input from four microphones. So together as a bilateral pair, they create a virtual eight-microphone network.
e2e wireless 3.0 creates a virtual eight-microphone network.
As with our previous wireless technology, e2e wireless 3.0 transmits information for feature management and user control changes (2). Now with binax, it also wirelessly processes and exchanges audio signals (1), thus creating binaural features that can be engaged whenever they are needed.
Superior data processing with minimum power consumption.
This virtual eight-microphone network provides a heightened sensitivity of the acoustic environment. We call this High Definition Sound Resolution, or HDSR. HDSR is the basis for the binax features that offer an exceptional binaural listening experience. In fact, it is so powerful that binax hearing aids are clinically proven to allow wearers to understand speech in cocktail party type situations even better than their normal hearing counterparts.*
What’s more, this outstanding hearing technology is incredibly energy efficient. binax provides outstanding HDSR — the revolutionary e2e wireless 3.0 technology requires just 1.6 mA for the transmission of audio signals.
As a result, all binax features — binaxFocus, binaxSound, and binaxGuide — engage automatically and as often as necessary to offer the best binaural listening experience ever without compromising battery life.
*Two clinical studies have shown that binax provides better than normal hearing in certain demanding environments (University of Northern Colorado, 2014; Oldenburg Hörzentrum, 2013): Speech Reception Thresholds (SRT) in cocktail-party situations improved up to 2.9 dB for wearers with mild to moderate hearing loss using Carat binax or Pure binax hearing aids with narrow directionality, compared to people with normal hearing.
binax top technological facts:
- e2e wireless 3.0 transmits 1000 x more data per second than the previous generation of transmission technology
- 16% more transistors than micon
- 20% more instructions per second than micon
- 48 channels, 12 kHz of bandwidth
- Power consumption: Only 1.6 mA with all binaural features active
Advanced binax features for a new level of Soundability.
binaxFocus, binaxSound, and binaxGuide create the perfect equilibrium between sound quality and audibility for each individual wearer — raising the bar for Soundability.
Ocean wave therapy signals
In addition to the proven static therapy signals, wearers can also choose from four nature-inspired ocean wave therapy signals: Boulder beach (1), rocky beach (2), sandy beach (3), and pebble beach (4). These undulating therapy signals provide a positive, soothing, and stress-relieving listening experience ideal for tinnitus patients who prefer a more natural therapy signal to the artificial static ones.
